What are porcelain veneers?
Porcelain veneers are ultra-thin, custom-crafted shells made from high-quality dental porcelain. Bonded to the front surface of your teeth, veneers are a popular cosmetic dentistry solution for improving the look of teeth affected by stains, minor misalignment, chips, or gaps.
The porcelain veneer process typically involves removing a small amount of enamel, taking precise dental impressions, and creating custom veneers in a lab. Once ready, the veneers are securely bonded to your teeth using a strong dental adhesive. Known for their durability, stain resistance, and natural appearance, porcelain veneers offer a long-lasting way to achieve a brighter, more confident smile.
If you’re looking for a long-term solution to enhance your smile, porcelain veneers are one of the most trusted options in modern cosmetic dentistry.
What issues can porcelain veneers fix?
Porcelain veneers are a versatile cosmetic dentistry solution that can transform your smile by addressing a variety of common concerns:
-
Stubborn discoloration: Veneers help keep your smile consistently bright and white, even when teeth whitening isn’t enough.
-
Chipped or cracked teeth: These minor flaws are covered seamlessly, giving your teeth a smooth, polished look.
-
Uneven tooth shape or size: Veneers can reshape and resize teeth for a more balanced, natural-looking smile.
-
Gaps between teeth: Small spaces are closed to create a more uniform and symmetrical appearance.
-
Mild misalignment: While not a replacement for orthodontics, veneers can visually correct slight misalignment for a straighter-looking smile.
Because the process involves removing a small amount of enamel, it’s considered permanent. That’s why it’s important to consult with a trusted expert.

What to expect during a porcelain veneer appointment?
Getting porcelain veneers involves two appointments, both crucial for your perfect smile. At the first visit, we numb your teeth for comfort, prepare them, and take impressions for the dental lab. While your final veneers are made (about two weeks), you’ll wear temporary acrylic veneers. The second appointment ensures the veneers fit perfectly and look good. Once approved, we bond them to your teeth. No numbing is needed, and you can eat and drink right away. We ensure you’re happy with your natural-looking new smile. Experience the transformation with Dr. Kathy Zahedi DDS & Associates. Your journey to a beautiful smile starts now! It's always a pleasure to go to Dr. Kathy Zahedi,s office. The staff is super great and Dr. Zahedi is amazing. Today I had her work on my crowns and the procedure was painless, I didn’t even feel the needle or the removal of the crowns. I was completely comfortable. Dr. Kathy and her dental assistants asked me many times during the procedure if I was comfortable.
I would recommend Dr. Kathy Zahedi, and her staff to any one that asked me.
Five star plus ⭐️
This is a painless soothing veneer experience. Kathy is indeed exceptional on getting the job done. I have always dream of having big natural smiles and I am thankful I went to her. I am currently getting my veneer done and I love the job Kathy does on my teeth. And I also love the facility and people there for offering a great service. They are so patient so kind and happy there. It’s an incredible experience. I highly recommend Kathy on your veneers. Thank you!! 🌷❤️
I have had the best best best experience with Dr. Zahedi and her team. I visited her after another dentist’s experience caused some major anxiety and fear. She has met me where I’m at emotionally with the deepest empathy, care, and respect. She listens to me, spends time with me, and makes sure I leave her office feeling better than when I arrived. She is like your most caring best friend, your favorite auntie, and the mother you wish you had. She has texted me on her days off to find out how I’m doing and feeling. I will never go to anyone else for my dental needs.

Frequently Asked Dental
Veneer Questions
Who is a good candidate for porcelain veneers?
Individuals with healthy teeth and gums who wish to address cosmetic concerns such as discoloration, chips, gaps, or minor misalignments may be suitable candidates. However, those with significant tooth decay, gum disease, or who habitually grind their teeth should seek treatment for these issues first.
How long do porcelain veneers last?
With proper care, porcelain veneers can last between 10 to 20 years. Their longevity depends on factors like oral hygiene practices and avoiding habits that could damage them, such as biting hard objects.
Are porcelain veneers stain-resistant?
Yes, porcelain veneers are highly resistant to stains from substances like coffee, tea, and tobacco, helping maintain a bright smile.
Do porcelain veneers look natural?
When crafted and placed correctly, porcelain veneers closely resemble natural teeth in color and translucency, providing a realistic and aesthetically pleasing appearance.
Can porcelain veneers be removed if I change my mind?
Porcelain veneers are considered a permanent treatment. Only 0.1 to 0.5 mm around the front and sides of the tooth is removed. Without this step, the thin sheets of porcelain that are cemented to the teeth would look oversized and unnatural. Veneers can be removed if it becomes necessary, but the teeth will not be aesthetically pleasing unless they are replaced with new veneers.
